Being The Groom – The Diplomat, your role may include acting as a go between for those whose emotions are guiding their decisions, mainly the women involved in the planning and organizing the big day. One of the groom’s most important roles is to keep the peace and maintain communication between both families.

One of you most important tasks is to make sure all small disagreements (such as who is included in the guest list) are smoothed over quickly and efficiently. Using your personal own brand of charisma and charm when dealing with your future mother-in law will go a long way in your married life!

Listen to your Bride.

Without question the most important person to be listening to is your Bride. You will need to  support the Bride, be her right hand man and her tower of strength when problems arise. Being that someone there to listen to the Bride’s ideas and suggestions. Sometimes women just need to vent their frustrations. The best thing you can do when you future Bride is stressed and needs to tell you all about it is just to listen, and listen well. Your Bride will not need you to fix the situation, she probably has a good idea of how to handle the problem and just wants your opinion.

Any Wedding Planning will involve and number of minor and sometimes major problems. This is what inevitably happens when planning a Wedding Day. You job is to listen and only offer suggestions when asked. For example, if she says “What do you think?” be careful, tread carefully and remember this is an emotionally charged time and she may be saying things that she doesn’t mean. Try to talk to your Bride in a way that she will feel calm and open to your ideas. Remember that this is your wedding day too, and your input is important, but also keep in mind that your ideas might be rejected if your Bride is stressed or emotional.
